Brexit: The Perspective of the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry - August 2018

The decision to leave the European Union (EU) raised fundamental questions about the environment in which the life sciences sector – including in vitro diagnostics (IVDs) – operates. IVDs range from pregnancy self-tests, to blood-glucose meters, to state-of-the-art analytical laboratory equipment. The UK medical technology industry consists of over 3,000 companies with a combined turnover of £15bn. The UK is the fifth largest market for IVDs in Europe.
