Members Update 789 - 20th July 2018

Emma attended a private visit to the Natural History Museum on Monday with the Parliamentary & Scientific Committee and Doris-Ann also had a P&SC Council meeting in her capacity as a Vice-President. On Tuesday Doris-Ann met with representatives of the Office for Product Safety and Standards (part of BEIS) who are looking at the effect of ROHS on the IVD sector

On Wednesday Doris-Ann met with PWC to help them understand the interest of BIVDA members in access to patient data as part of a commissioned project from NHS Digital to assess the value of data to the NHS and how this could be captured. Yesterday Rachel went with Richard Saunders and Darren Stenlake to their regular catch-up meeting on issues concerning lab accreditation at UKAS and Doris-Ann went to an evening workshop at the Kings Fund to work on a white paper on out of hospital care.  The latest issue of Diagnostics in Healthcare is available and has been sent to MPs prior to the Summer Recess which starts on 24th July.
