BIVDA Comments on Chancellor’s Speech to Conservative Party Conference

BIVDA Comments on Chancellor’s Speech to Conservative Party Conference

BIVDA Chief Executive Doris-Ann Williams has commented on Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s speech to the Conservative Party Conference.

“While the Chancellor’s speech was light on policy, we recognise that the Government has committed to doing what is necessary to support the economy and health service during what will be a difficult winter. A thriving British IVD industry will be crucial for both tracking the ongoing pandemic and identifying the undiagnosed conditions that have built up since March.

BIVDA recently put forward the policies we need from Ministers in order to support our sector in our Spending Review submission, including more investment in advanced manufacturing and research, and we will continue to support the Department of Health and NHS over the coming months.”
