BIVDA’s Response to the 2017 General Election Result

Commenting on the result of the Election, BIVDA’s Chief Executive Doris-Ann Williams MBE said:

“Despite the surprising result of the General Election, BIVDA welcomes the decisive action taken by the Prime Minister to form a Government with support from the DUP.

“With Brexit negotiations due to start on 19th  June, it is vital that we try to minimise uncertainty for business and work together to ensure the UK life sciences industry remains a ‘jewel in the crown’ of the UK economy.

“We hope that the Government will soon resume work on its Life Sciences Industrial Strategy and implementing the Accelerated Access Review, so that more patients can benefit from the value of in vitro diagnostics”.
