BIVDA response to Government’s announcement of new improvements to the Accelerated Access Collaborative

Responding to the government’s announcement on new improvements to the Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC), which will prioritise and fast-track the most promising medicines, diagnostic tools and digital services, Doris-Ann Williams, Chief Executive of BIVDA, said:

“BIVDA welcomes today’s announcement for an enhanced Accelerated Access Collaborative, a stepping stone to faster adoption of innovations into the NHS and, in particular, the role for Dr Roberts, an enthusiast for innovation in healthcare. The vision for a wider and more rapid uptake of innovations into the NHS represents an important step towards harnessing the potential of new technologies for the benefit of patients. We support Government in this aim and the IVD sector is fully committed to playing its part in realising this vision. We must now work together, in partnership, to successfully capitalise on the opportunities ahead.”
