The Secretariat carry out the work of the Association as determined by the Executive Board.
Doris-Ann Williams has been Chief Executive of BIVDA since October 2001. She has more than 30 years’ experience working in the IVD sector and has had a variety of experience; initially in R&D and subsequently in commercial roles including international responsibilities.
Doris-Ann represents the IVD industry to a range of stakeholders, and sits on the boards and steering groups of a variety of initiatives. These include the Ministerial Medical Technology Strategy Group, with Innovate UK, the UK Pharmacogenetics and Stratified Medicine Network, and the Parliamentary and Science Committee as Vice-President.
Doris-Ann works closely with MedTech Europe and other global IVD industry associations. She was awarded an MBE in January 2011 and was recognised as a Friend of the Royal College of Pathologists in November 2012.
Chief Operations Officer
Kaye joined BIVDA in January 2019 as Chief Operating Officer. She started her journey in the IVD world back in 1982 as a Lab Technician for Amersham International and has held a number of positions across the industry, including in the areas of sales, instrument installations and solution design. Kaye joins BIVDA after nearly four years as Marketing Manager for Fujirebio, based at their European HQ in Gent, Belgium. As COO, Kaye oversees the day-to-day running of the office, as well as membership management and support, procurement and wider support to Doris-Ann.
Natalie joined BIVDA in February 2019 having worked at The Royal College of Radiologists for 17 years as both a Finance and Website Administrator and Membership Officer. As BIVDA’s new Operations Manager, she is responsible for managing the association’s day-to-day operations, including membership renewals, finance functions and database maintenance.
External Affairs Manager
Nunzia joined BIVDA in September 2018.
With extensive stakeholder and communications experience, she joins BIVDA from the UK Petroleum Industry Association (UKPIA) where, as Director of Communications, she led its strategic communications activities. She holds an MA in International Relations and Contemporary Political Theory and a BSc in Politics.
Nunzia supports Doris-Ann in the representation of BIVDA to external audiences.
External Affairs Officer
Tom joined BIVDA in January 2019. After leaving university with a BA in Politics, he spent two years working in public policy and regulatory affairs for an advertising trade association, gaining experience in the areas of advocacy, stakeholder engagement and public affairs. He assists Nunzia in representing BIVDA and the UK in vitro diagnostic industry to a wide range of audiences.
Jeanette joined BIVDA in October 2017 as an Administrator / Receptionist and she comes to us with a very strong reception background having worked in diverse industries across London. Jeanette has a happy can do attitude and brightens up our reception.
